President Donald Trump's relationship with some of his male followers should raise eyebrows, according to two conservative analysts.

Sarah Longwell, publisher of the conservative newsletter The Bulwark, and the outlet's managing editor, Sam Stein, discussed the relationship on a new episode of "Bulwark Takes" on YouTube. They noted certain incongruities between Trump's interests and the persona portrayed by many of his masculine followers.

Their comments were made after Trump gave a speech at the Kennedy Center, a cultural institution that he is trying to rename the Trump-Kennedy Center, according to reports. In his speech, Trump rambled about hosting the Kennedy Center Awards, which Stein and Longwell found to be a revealing topic.

"It's always funny to me with his thing where he likes musicals," Longwell said. "Not that musicals are inherently feminine, because they're not. But they are theatrical in a way that is always funny to me. His hyper masculine supporters talk about him like he's a hyper masculine guy with the makeup and the weird poofed hair and the love of musicals."

Hypermasculinity has become a central theme of the MAGA movement as social media content creators like Andrew Tate, Joe Rogan, and "Liver King" aligned with Trump's movement.

Longwell and Stein agreed that this relationship gives off a distinctive vibe, but maybe not one that Trump would want to be associated with.

"He's got a gay vibe," Stein said.

"Let's just be honest, if you ran into someone who is not the president but is obsessed with gold adornments in their house, and musical theater, and interior design. I think you would have some suspicions about their sexuality," he continued.
