It’s hard to think of Key West and not think of Jimmy Buffett or “Margaritaville.”

His Parrot Head fans continue to flock to the southernmost point in the United States that he once called home, where they spent time soaking up his history and the musical scene on the island.

And while they were initially attracted to the lyrics of Buffett’s escapism sound, many found other trop rock or country musicians to follow in Key West. The small island is known for its vibrant music scene, where people can find live music and musicians at multiple places, many that perform original music.

Dave Hartnett is hoping to bring that same experience to Hampton Beach this August with the first Key West Days in Hampton Beach, a new music festival from Aug. 20 to 23.
