That’s how Nashua Mayor Jim Donchess and several aldermen described rumors about a Chinese company’s purchase of a city industrial building at 80 Northwest Boulevard for local residents who packed the aldermanic chamber Tuesday night.

The officials said what residents have been hearing are rumors based on politically driven propaganda rather than facts.

The issue has gained traction in recent weeks, prompting officials to add a discussion period to Tuesday’s already lengthy agenda in order to explain the process and the city’s involvement — which is virtually none, Donchess said.
