A group of Bow parents banned from attending school activities for wearing pink wristbands in support of biological female athletes are firing back at claims by school officials who say their actions amounted to the “targeting and intimidation of students.”

“Messages like XX chromosomes are not violence,” attorneys for the parents said in a brief filed Wednesday in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit in Boston. “The district court’s holding to the contrary was not just mistaken — it was deeply irresponsible.

“Calling the silent display of the XX wristbands by adults at a public event ‘harassment’ is profoundly authoritarian and represents a rejection of First Amendment values. ”
