A Merrimack County jury found a 60-year-old Manchester woman guilty of Medicaid fraud involving her disabled daughter after a five-day trial.
The jury found Fawn Gobis guilty of one felony count of theft by deception and two felony counts of Medicaid fraud, according to a news release.
The verdict comes after Gobis’s son, Cody Gobis, pleaded guilty last summer to a misdemeanor charge of receiving stolen property. Fawn Gobis was charged with stealing more than $10,000.
The family claimed Cody Gobis was a caregiver to his disabled sister, even though he lived in Colorado at the time, according to court documents.
Richard Gobis was indicted for being an accomplice to theft by deception and Medicaid fraud (false claims) and faces his own trial next year.
