JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (WJHL) — The turf used in the MLB Speedway Classic in Bristol has made its way to Johnson City to enhance ETSU's baseball field.
The turf and materials needed for laying it were delivered to Thomas Stadium on Wednesday.
A total of 124,000 square feet of diamond series astroturf was donated to the Bucs.
It's the same kind used in the Rogers Centre, where the Toronto Blue Jays play.
The turf donation is part of MLB Together, the league's social responsibility initiative.
