AUBURN HILLS, Mich. (WILX) - On Aug. 13, 1988, the Palace of Auburn Hills opened its doors, ushering in a new era for Michigan sports and entertainment.

Built for $90 million, the state-of-the-art arena became home to the Detroit Pistons and hosted concerts by the biggest names in music.

That is, until it was demolished in 2020.
