CLARENDON, Ark. – Clarendon School District Superintendent Lee Vent is speaking publicly for the first time following the arrest of an assistant football coach and teacher on multiple felony charges involving a minor.
State police say 27-year-old Caleb Hunter Gannon is charged with felony rape and engaging children in sexually explicit conduct for use in a visual or print medium. He is being held on a $3 million bond in the Prairie County Detention Center.
According to Vent, Gannon first joined the district in 2020 as a teaching intern before being hired as an assistant football coach.
He later helped with spring sports and served as the district’s Alternative Learning Environment (ALE) director.
