Police are asking for the public’s help in finding the suspect in Friday night’s acid attack of a 30-year-old man in Chinatown.

Homicide Lt. Deena Thoemmes held a news conference today at police headquarters offering surveillance images of a suspect crossing the street as well as a sketch of the suspect.

Thoemmes said the male victim had just picked up food to take to his workplace about 8:40 p.m. when an unknown man approached him on the sidewalk, asked him a few questions before suddenly throwing an unknown liquid on him.

The victim returned to his workplace, and coworkers called 911.

Emergency Medical Services responded and brought the man to a nearby hospital in critical condition.

HPD patrol officers initiated an assault investigation.
