DUMONT, Colo. (KDVR) — Weigh stations along Colorado's highways, for the majority of motorists, are a mystery.

FOX31's Nicole Fierro is getting an exclusive look at different aspects of the Colorado State Patrol to help the Patrol celebrate 90 years of serving and protecting our state. This month, she went inside those weigh stations.

From driving Interstate 70 to inspecting the largest trucks passing through it: Four times a week, every week, Colorado State Patrol Port of Entry Officer Zachary Miller navigates to the Dumont Port of Entry and back from Monument. That’s more than an 80-mile work commute each way.

“I really like the team that's up here, they're the biggest reason why I'm staying up here,” Miller said.
