CHERRY CREEK, Colo. (KDVR) — Management at the Griffis Apartments in Cherry Creek says they are making changes to improve safety after a string of car break-ins, including nearly 20 more since June.

Police are now looking for 34-year-old Zackary Steele, who is suspected of multiple break-ins at the complex. Investigators say security video provided by the building helped identify him, and Steele currently has an active warrant.

Griffis officials told FOX31 a new 24-hour security company started this week, with “standing patrols” walking the property inside and out. Management also plans to call residents directly after crimes instead of sending only email alerts.
