CLEVELAND — Sen. Bernie Moreno will participate in a public forum at The City Club of Cleveland next week, discussing his Senate work and its impact on Ohio, the organization announced on Wednesday.

The event, scheduled for Aug. 20, will feature NBC News’ Henry Gomez in conversation with the freshman senator. Moreno also will take questions from the audience, as is The City Club’s tradition.

Moreno, a Westlake Republican elected to the Senate last November, has a unique background. Born in Bogota, Colombia, he immigrated to the United States at age five and became a U.S. citizen at 18. Before entering politics, he was known for building a car dealership empire that employed more than 1,000 Ohioans.
