The city of Columbia is asking for public input on the proposed electric rate increase that would affect all customers.
Residents will be able to express their opinions about the proposal at the next Columbia City Council meeting on Aug. 18, according to a news release.
Columbia Utilities announced last month that it was proposing a 2% increase in the customer charge and usage rates.
According to the city, the residential customer charge will go from $22 per month to $22.44 per month.
Usage rates will depend on each customer's usage.
