It has already been an eventful season for Wall junior quarterback Fran Scaramellino, and the team has not even been in full pads yet.
In the course of a few days, Scaramellino left Wall, transferred to Red Bank Catholic and then transferred back to Wall.
In the process, he burned his one, penalty-free transfer under NJSIAA rules. As penalty for the second transfer back to Wall, he is required to sit 30 days or miss the first four regular-season games.
Scaramellino started all 11 games last season and helped Wall go 8-3 and reach the Central, Group 2 final, where the Knights lost to Rumson-Fair Haven, 38-14.
At Shore Conference Media Day on Monday at Brick Memorial, Wall head coach Ed Gurrieri said Scaramellino was at RBC “for about a week.”
