A volunteer reads the names of some of the 18,500 children killed in Gaza since October 7, 2023
It’s 1pm on a Monday afternoon in Nottingham and pro-Palestine demonstrators are still taking turns to step up to a microphone outside Nottingham's Central Library. They’re reading the names of every single child that has been killed in Gaza since October 7, 2023.
18,500 of them.
The demonstrators arrived at 7am, six hours ago, but are fewer than 4,000 names in. It would take more than 24 hours to get through them all.
