CHARLESTON — Some properties take time to sell, especially the historically significant ones, when the owner holds out for a specific buyer who will appreciate it.
That’s the case for the Walker, Evans and Cogswell building, constructed in the 1850s in downtown Charleston, that sold for $3.4 million on Aug. 5.
The sale included the unusual L-shaped building with frontage at both 3 Broad St. and 117 East Bay St.
Sold as one unit, the buildings that formerly housed a publishing company were connected in the 19th century, wrapping around the corner parcel at 1 Broad St.
