FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - While it will be warm with highs in the mid to upper 80s today, slightly lower humidity will make it comfortable for your outdoor plans.

The heat and humidity return into the weekend! The heat index will climb near the triple-digits by Sunday. Make sure your outdoor activities this weekend include ways to stay cool and stay hydrated in the heat. We’ll stay mostly sunny and dry on Saturday, but some pop-ups are possible on Sunday.

The hot trend continues for early next week, but our next cold front arrives midweek to drive down the heat and humidity. In fact, highs are expected to fall into the 70s and 80s for the end of next week into the weekend. We’ll have to monitor any wildfire smoke that may move in from Canada with this next front.
