SPRINGFIELD -- Residents impacted by recent storms will have two opportunities this week to learn about disaster recovery resources during free workshops hosted by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA).

The SBA is partnering with Springfield-Greene County Emergency Management, New Growth, SCORE, and other local recovery partners to provide guidance for individuals, families, business owners, and nonprofit organizations seeking help after severe weather.

Topics covered will include available SBA disaster loans for renters, homeowners, businesses, and nonprofits; maximum loan amounts and eligible uses; how insurance impacts SBA loan eligibility; common reasons for loan denial and how to overcome them; and a step-by-step guide to completing the SBA application process.
