The Orleans Parish Jail has secured $15 million in funding to help repair and make upgrades to the jail.
According to Sheriff Susan Hutson, the money was secured through limited tax bonds approved by the Louisiana State Bond Commission. Advertisement
This comes after Hutson has been vocal on the condition of the jail following the escape of 10 inmates on May 16. One inmate, Derrick Groves, remains on the run.
