Today will be partly cloudy, hot, and humid with a 40% chance of mainly afternoon showers/storms, highs near 94.

HEAT THE NEXT FEW DAYS

The peak heat indices will be between 103-108 through the weekend, into next week.

TROPICAL UPDATE

In the tropics, we have Tropical Storm Erin, still expected to be a major hurricane, but no threat to the Gulf.

We also have a wave with a low chance of tropical development in the Southern Gulf.

This feature will most likely not have a direct impact on our local area.

FORECAST RAINFALL

Over the next week or so, expect manageable rain amounts with mostly under an inch expected.
