Bryan Kohberger isn't adjusting well to his new life.

As the 30-year-old continues his life sentence at the Idaho Maximum Security Institution for the 2022 murders of four University of Idaho students, he has been struggling to connect with his fellow inmates.

"We are aware of Kohberger's complaints about what he considers taunting," The Idaho Department of Corrections confirmed to NewsNation in an Aug. 13 statement. "Incarcerated individuals commonly communicate with each other in prison."

The agency asserted that the IDOC maintains a "safe and orderly environment for all individuals in our custody."

That includes Kohberger, the statement noted, who is currently residing in solitary confinement in the J Block of the men's prison.
