An Ayrshire mental health nurse has been struck off for a series of care failings towards multiple vulnerable patients going back more than a decade. ‌

The Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) said Ross Allan’s actions fell “seriously short” of the conduct and standards expected of a nurse and amounted to “misconduct.” ‌

Allan faced a series of charges in relation to care failings in North Ayrshire towards “multiple vulnerable patients” between April 2015 and July 2016. ‌

This latest hearing into the case was the third review of a substantive suspension order originally imposed against Allan for a period of 12 months by a Fitness to Practise Committee panel in February 2023.
