GREENVILLE, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - The owner of a dog who was euthanized without her permission is sharing her side of the story exclusively with FOX Carolina.

Social media posts introduced him as “Max”, but his owner of nearly 15 years said his name was Loey. His family called him Lulu.

Four people with local non-profit, Anakin’s Trails are now charged with stealing/killing an identifiable dog , among other charges.

The Greenville County Sheriff’s said the group took the Lulu from his yard and drove him to the veterinarian.

According to social media posts by Anakin’s Trails, the group was trying to save the dog, who was “suffering” from heart disease.

The sheriff’s office said the photos circulating on social media are deceptive about his conditions.
