MILWAUKEE (WKBT) -- A Milwaukee area Democrat has announced a campaign for Wisconsin governor.

Ryan Strnad, a Milwaukee area union member and lobbyist, plans to officially announce his campaign Wednesday, August 20 at a 2:00 p.m. press conference, according to a release Thursday.

Strnad has worked at both American Family Field and County Stadium since 1988. He became active with the Workers United union, while also founding a political action committee and lobbying group called "Drinks In The Seats", the release says.

Strnad will join current Lt. Gov. Sara Rodriguez and relatively unknown Zachary Roper as Democrats vying for the gubernatorial nomination. Roper recently lost in the general election last fall to incumbent Republican Chuck Wichgers for State Assembly District 84 in south
