NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) - The North Charleston Police Department has made an arrest in last week’s pedestrian hit-and-run that killed a 47-year-old man.

Lewis Pinckney, 29, of Charleston, is charged with hit-and-run resulting in death and trespassing.

Pinckney was arrested early Thursday morning when officers responded to a disturbance on Flintwood Court.

The caller reported that the person responsible for the disturbance was the owner of the truck, a Ford F-150, involved in the deadly hit-and-run that took place Aug. 5 at Rivers Avenue and Piggly Wiggly Drive .

Investigators determined that the vehicle was indeed involved, resulting in Pinckney’s arrest around 3 a.m.
