Police have commenced an arson investigation after a fire at a residence in Burgoyne on Thursday morning.

Just after 5 a.m., South Bruce OPP and Arran-Elderslie Fire and Emergency Services attended the residence for an active structure fire. Article content

The porch of the residence was on fire and officers determined it had been deliberately set by an individual who was still on scene. The individual was taken into custody without incident, police said in a news release.

The South Bruce OPP Crime Unit is investigating the matter as an arson and updates will be made when available, police said.
