OTSEGO COUNTY – Michigan State Police are investigating an attempted home invasion and assault that occurred Wednesday night in Bagley Township.
Troopers from the Gaylord Post were called about 9:25 p.m. to a residence on Seneca Trail after the homeowner reported a man had knocked on the door but stood out of view.
When the door was opened, the man claimed to work for a powerline company and told the resident their account would be shut off the next day. He asked to come inside, and when refused, allegedly assaulted the homeowner. The resident was able to shut and lock the door before the suspect left.
Police said the suspect drove off in a 2009-2010 black, older-style pickup truck, possibly a Chevrolet or GMC, with LED headlights. He is described as a man in his 30s, about 5-foot-10 to
