WORDEN – After seven years, more than 800 people in Yellowstone County will have safe drinking water again. Construction on a new water system in Worden and Ballantine began last week.

Stacked jugs of water greeted residents at the entrance of the Worden VFW in a public hearing on a $11-million construction project meant to finally address the contamination.

The Worden Ballantine Yellowstone County Water and Sewer District has been spending thousands a month provide residents bottled water. The meeting started off with an apology by the water district.
