Have some thoughts on the latest flavour of ice coffee from your favourite café? A Niagara-made app lets users have their say while at the same time helping out some worthy local causes.

Created by St. Catharines’ Michael Mindzak, BeCause is a consumer intelligence gathering tool that invites users to take short surveys on a variety of topics: their favourite type of activities, their personality traits and their opinions on specific products and companies.

After each online survey — people can do up to three a day, a real life micro-donation is made to one of a number of local charity partners. As well, each day there is a new contest users can enter for a chance to win a small prize — typically in the form of a $10-$20 gift card.
