Two Thorold men have been arrested after being linked to ATM thefts in St. Catharines and Thorold, which involved using a stolen vehicle to smash into businesses.
Niagara Regional Police said late in the evening Aug. 4 and into the morning Aug. 5, a vehicle was stolen from an auto body repair shop in St. Catharines. Police said the vehicle was then used to break into a business where an ATM was stolen.
At around midnight on Aug. 8, police responded to an alarm call at a Thorold business. Police said the same vehicle was used to break in and steal another ATM.
The vehicle was driven from the scene before police arrived.
On Monday, police found the stolen vehicle and after the forensics unit closely examined it, officers were able to collect additional evidence.
