OTTAWA — Prime Minister Mark Carney's office is actively seeking a local constituency office that meets his security needs. The office aims to find a location that is also convenient for residents of his Nepean riding. This effort comes more than 100 days after the spring election, during which Carney has not yet established his own constituency office.

According to the Prime Minister's Office (PMO), residents of Nepean can currently access federal services through Defence Minister David McGuinty’s office, located in the neighboring Ottawa South riding. The PMO emphasized that the search for a suitable office is progressing well.

Carney is set to be the last member of his cabinet to have a local riding office listed in the House of Commons directory. Constituency offices play a crucial role in connecting residents with their elected representatives. They serve as a point of access for citizens seeking assistance with government services and navigating bureaucratic processes.

Local staff employed at these offices are essential in helping constituents address their concerns and inquiries. The establishment of Carney's office is anticipated to enhance the connection between him and the residents of Nepean.
