FAIRMONT, W.Va. (WV News) — Fairmont State University welcomed new students to campus on Thursday, rolling out the red carpet to ensure that the newcomers feel welcome, appreciated and energized as they begin their higher education journeys.
Fairmont State University President Dr. Mike Davis said move-in day and the school's welcome week in general are important events in a student's life, and he and his staff want to make this next week as special as possible.
"This is students' first exposure to a new campus and college environment, and you only get one shot at a first impression," Davis said. "We want to demonstrate to them that from the moment they step on campus, we are a vibrant, engaged community that's going to both challenge them and help them get to their end goal of graduation
