LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - A spokesperson for LMPD said the 15-year-old who was arrested Wednesday evening in connection to the shootout near a JCPS bus stop on the first day of school was the same boy who was questioned about the deadly shooting that happened at the same location a week later.

Just after 8 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 7, the first day of classes for JCPS, LMPD responded to a call of gunfire near a bus stop at 10th and Chestnut . Witnesses described the scene as a shootout between two people.

One teen was arrested for that shooting on Saturday, Aug. 9. A second teen was arrested on Wednesday .

Around 8 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 13, officers responded to the same area in response to a shooting. That shooting took the life of Redaja Williams , who was walking a child to the
