OTSEGO COUNTY, MI – Police are looking for a suspect who allegedly impersonated a utility worker before an attempted home invasion and assault.

Michigan State Police in Gaylord are looking for a man in his 30s who fled a residence on Seneca Trail in Otsego County’s Bagley Township at 9:25 p.m. on Wednesday.

The homeowner reported that he knocked on the door and claimed to work for a powerline company before telling the homeowner that their account would be shut off the next day.

He asked to enter the home, police said. When refused, he allegedly assaulted the homeowner before they were able to shut and lock the door.

The suspect left in a 2009-2010 black, older-style pickup truck, possibly a Chevrolet or GMC, with LED headlights, police said.
