WATERTOWN, New York (WWNY) - A Watertown man, who did time in prison for attempted murder, is accused of strangling a woman.

Watertown City Police say it happened around 10 p.m. at 232 Chestnut Street.

According to police, 32-year-old Austen Scudera struck a woman in the face with a cheeseburger, dragged her by her arm and shoulder, and threatened to knock her out.

Police allege Scudera grabbed the woman by the neck with both hands and lifted her in the air for about 10 seconds, causing pain, difficulty breathing, and causing the woman to experience stupor when she couldn’t remember how she got outside of the residence.
