WATERTOWN, New York (WWNY) - A Watertown man is accused of breaking into a laundromat through the ceiling and stealing more than $1,700 worth of items.
City police arrested 50-year-old William Tucker of Stone Street on Wednesday.
On August 6, Tucker allegedly climbed through a ceiling to enter a locked room at Rose’s Laundry in the plaza off Eastern Boulevard. Police said he damaged ceiling tiles and braces in the process.
Once inside, Tucker allegedly stole $50 in quarters, a Dell laptop computer, a security system with hard drive, and keys to the washers and dryers.
The items were valued at $1,745.99.
Tucker was charged with third-degree burglary, fourth-degree grand larceny and fourth-degree criminal mischief.
He’s being held in the Jefferson County Jail on $1,000 bail.
