Thomas Skinner has questioned why people were "so angry" about his upcoming appearance on Strictly Come Dancing .

The businessman, who shot to fame on the The Apprentice , has been announced as one of this year's celebrity contestants on the hit BBC dance show.

However some viewers were left "disgusted" by the news and branded it an "appalling booking".

On an Instagram post revealing his role in the show, one fan fumed: "Wow absolutely disgraceful decision."

Another said: "Oh no. This man is so offensive."

A similar comment read: "This is such a bad vibe choice. Ugly opinions and deeply polarising. Can't help but feel like this is going to be an own goal."
