Officers are investigating the shooting of a woman who was walking her dog by a pond in Carver on Wednesday, which investigators believe was not random, the Carver Police Department said Thursday.
At around 7:37 p.m., a 28-year-old woman entered the police station and said she was shot at Sampson Pond, according to police in a statement . After she showed officers her leg and saw she was shot, Carver EMS arrived, treated her leg and took her to South Shore Hospital in Weymouth.
The gunshot wound appeared not to be life-threatening, police said.
Carver police investigated the area where the woman was shot, with the help of a Massachusetts State Police Air Wing helicopter, a Plymouth County Sheriff’s Office K-9 unit, and a drone unit from the Rochester Police Department, police said. Th
