The campgrounds at the largest lake within Pennsylvania have been reopened.

The US Army Corps of Engineers announced that the lake’s three campgrounds will reopen, “beginning with Susquehannock and Nancy’s Boat-to-Shore Campgrounds on Friday, Aug. 15, followed by Seven Points Campground on Friday, Sept. 5.”

“Raystown Lake is a paramount provider of outdoor recreation opportunities in Pennsylvania and our staff is prepared to assist visitors create lasting memories,” said Baltimore District Commander Col. Francis Pera in the announcement. The Baltimore District covers much of Pennsylvania as well as portions of several other states.

The closing of the campsites was a result of DOGE cuts to the Army Corps of Engineers , which led to “executive-order driven staffing shortages.”
