An East Ridge man was struck and killed by a train in Gordon County Tuesday morning.

The Gordon County Coroner's Office confirmed that Gregory Smith, 60, died as a result of the strike.

We've reached out to the Gordon County Sheriff's Office for more information about the incident.

"The Coroner's office continues its support of the family of Mr. Smith and the Gordon County Sheriff's Office," said County Coroner Nick Blalock.
