PORTLAND, Ore. — Phil and Penny Knight are donating a record-breaking $2 billion to Oregon Health & Science University's Knight Cancer Institute. It's the largest single donation made to a university in the U.S.
Dr. Brian Druker shared the announcement during a news conference Thursday morning. He said the gift will allow the Knight Cancer Institute to create an "unmatched" cancer care model that will expand and accelerate diagnosis, and ensure that patients have access to breakthrough clinical trials and complementary therapies.
