PORTLAND, Ore. — Mark Cuban, the former principal owner and current minority owner of the NBA's Dallas Mavericks, said Portland Trail Blazers fans will be happy with the team's new owner once the sale is finalized.

Tom Dundon, majority owner of the NHL's Carolina Hurricanes, leads an ownership group that has reached a tentative agreement to purchase the Portland Trail Blazers for $4.25 billion. Sportico first reported the news Wednesday, and it was later confirmed by multiple outlets.

KGW reporter Devon Haskins reached out to Cuban on Wednesday and asked what he thinks of Dundon agreeing to buy the Blazers. Cuban had nothing but positive things to say.

"He will be a great owner," Cuban said. "He loves and knows basketball. He won in the NHL. I think fans will really like Tom."
