LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - UK Hospital’s in a baby boom. More than a dozen of their nurses and doctors in the Labor and Delivery unit are having babies of their own.

The 11 nurses and one resident range from seven months postpartum, to halfway through their second trimesters.

“Even some of the patients have picked up that they keep seeing a lot of bellies, and so they’re asking the same questions,” explains nurse Haley Hilander, with a laugh.

The journey to pregnancy was harder for some, like nurse Rachel Daugherty. “With the struggles we had having a baby, it just makes me so excited and every time I see one of them, I just have tears and wanna hug them and rub their bellies,” she explains.

The women are helping one another, every symptom and step along the way.
