AMES, Iowa (KCRG) - A Des Moines man has been arrested after stealing nearly $60,000 in electronics from Iowa State University (ISU).

From October 2024 to July 2025, the ISU Police Department conducted 13 investigations into a series of burglaries and thefts that took place on campus. Stolen items included a variety of electronics totaling to $59,488.80.

Police located a suspect after discovering an eBay account that featured listings of the items reported stolen. After conducting an investigation, law enforcement identified 45-year-old Donavan Cirksena as the owner of the account.

Cirksena used the eBay account to make a profit off the stolen electronics. Police determined he made $6,976 from the sale of stolen items.
