At Midway, basketball is more than a sport. It’s woven into the fabric of the community. For decades, one of the brightest threads in that fabric was Susan Parker Blue — a player whose strength and skill made her a legend on the court, and whose kindness and heart made her unforgettable off it. Her sudden passing this summer left a void in her family, her circle of friends, and an entire community that loved her.
She leaves behind her husband of 38 years, John Blue, her oldest son, Jonathan, and her youngest son, Joshua. But her legacy stretches far beyond her family tree. It’s found in every teammate she pushed to play harder, every player she coached to be better, and every person she welcomed with a smile.
Her love for basketball started long before she ever wore a Midway jersey. Form
