LOS ANGELES — Megadeth has announced they're releasing a new album and going on a global tour next year — something they say will be their last.

"It’s our last studio album. We’ve made a lot of friends over the years and I hope to see all of you on our global farewell tour," co-founder of the band Dave Mustaine wrote on their website.

In a social media post Thursday, the band's normally silent mascot Vic Rattlehead appeared to address their fanbase, called the Cyber Army, directly.

The video begins with emergency sirens blaring, showing clips from multiple fake broadcast networks with images depicting the apocalypse.
