SALEM, Mass. —
The North Andover police officer accused of pointing her gun at another officer in a June incident appeared in court virtually on Thursday for a dangerousness hearing.
Kelsey Fitzsimmons, 28, who was off-duty at the time, was shot twice in the chest by another North Andover officer in the incident.
Prosecutors say officers were serving a restraining order from Fitzsimmons's fiance, who had also been granted custody of the couple's baby.
The prosecutor says that as officers were serving that order, Fitzsimmons lied, telling them all guns were secured in the basement.
He went on to say she pulled a gun from a bedroom closet and pointed it at her fellow officer, pulling the trigger once, but the gun did not fire.
