WEST DE PERE, Wis. (WBAY) - For the second year in a row a group of friends from West De Pere are raising money for children fighting cancer, the Ronald McDonald House Charities, and Children’s Wisconsin.
Last year these girls raised $14,000, way over their goal of $500 they had initially set. They said that they do this in honor of their friend’s little sister Ella, a childhood cancer survivor. The girls say the name Lemon Market comes from mixing together a lemonade stand and a farmers’ market.
When life gives you lemons, you make lemonade - that’s the saying. For one group of girls, they are making lemonade and so much more.
“Everyone can make a difference,” said Ava Winters.
This year’s event will benefit Ronald McDonald House, Children’s Wisconsin, and creating “Smiles for Miles”
