ST. JOHN, Wis. (WBAY) - A Calumet County couple is breathing new life into a historical building through their love of music and dance.

The facility is The Crystal, more commonly known as The Crystal Ballroom. It’s a treasured piece of history still standing proud.

“Very historic. Built in 1928 in the little unincorporated community of St. John,” explained co-owner and host Eric W. Krueger. “Built on the site of a previous ballroom, so a lot of history in this town going back to the general store, jail, Prohibition era. Think of those early ’20s.”

While the caretakers for the property may have a new name, The Crystal’s purpose holds strong.
