A York County winery that celebrated the opening of its tasting room this past spring after a six-year buildup is expanding its brand.

Lavender Acres Winery opened what it’s calling a pop-up tasting room in Columbia, a few miles from its main location in Hellam Township, on Aug. 1.

Located at 445 Linden St., it’s right off the Route 30 exit by the Susquehanna River. Owner Bill Hewitt said the building was previously occupied by the chamber of commerce.

“Great building, it’s a 1400-square-foot Cape Cod, right when you come off the exit,” he said. “You turn left to go to me and turn right to go to the Turkey Hill Experience. Couldn’t ask for much better.”

The hours are 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and noon to 6 p.m. Sunday.
